Heavenly Flowers of Spring
by
Marilyn Ferguson
Sweet lingering fragrance of springtime
How gently it drifts through the air
With lilacs in bloom and natures perfume
To sweeten a day, ever fair.
Oh, for the richness of springtime
With tulips and lilies in bloom
Carnations so fine, an iris divine
Orchids to brighten a room.
Oh, for the love of the springtime
A heavenly scent does abound
Daisy delight, a violet so bright
Tender red roses are found.
Oh, for the blessings of springtime
Such beauty, mine eyes do behold
Petunia’s from God, peek out from the sod
More precious than rubies or gold.
